On the 6thDecember I had the pleasure of working with The Gypsy Shrine at Google’s Christmas party. I have worked at a few Google parties before and they NEVER disappoint so I was super excited for this one.
So the event took place at Printworks, a venue in South East London that is renowned for it’s live and electronic music sessions. We arrived here at 3pm to set up for the event starting at 6pm. The theme for the evening was “White Wonderland” and that definitely came across. We came through the doors to an amazing white forest set up, white and silver balloons everywhere, glittery pillows and blankets, and even a snow machine… it was magical!
We were set up in the chill out zone with comfy sofas everywhere and games like table tennis and air hockey just in case you needed to take a break from the party. In the room next to us was the most amazing street food stalls, catered by Kerb (which is also a market located in Camden Town). Obviously I wasn’t going to miss this and naturally gravitated towards the Mac n Cheese stand. In the main room the music was playing all night, with headliner Sigma.
The Google employees LOVE the glitter looks we create and are always straight to us when they arrive. From the minute we started at 6 o’clock we didn’t see the end of the queue until about 11pm, at which point a lot of people were either heading home for the night or living their best life on the dance floor in the main room (I know where id be!).
We were booked until midnight so this gave us some time to go off and explore the party ourselves. We managed to catch the final songs performed by Sigma and I even got a picture in front of the angel wings (I have waited my whole life for this!!).
