So I will start by saying… Happy New Year everyone! Where has the last year gone?! Wishing you all a wonderful 2019.
This was my first job of the year, kicking it off with a gooden! On the 4thJanuary I head to Pulborough, West Sussex (yes, this was a trek…). I left my house in the early hours of Friday morning to arrive at the shoot location at 8.30. We were shooting in a really cool retro house that had some AMAZING rooms/backgrounds to photograph… as soon as I walked in the house I knew we were going to get some good photographs.
The shoot was for Jessica’s new Lookbook, A/W collection and Nightwear, so we had a lot to get through in one day. The style we were going for was vintage/ 70’s vibes which was so much fun to play around with. There were 4 models, the first one in for makeup at 9am. We started off shooting nightwear, so the makeup and hair was very natural… because who wakes up with a full glam look and bouncy blow dry right?! I had all 4 models in for this and as I had finished my fourth we were ready to go heavy for the A/W collection.
We had a quick stop for some lunch, prepared by Jess’ grandma whose house we were actually shooting in. After filling our bellies I cracked on with the next round of looks.
For two of the models, Lily and Aisha, I did quite a heavy smoky eye with a natural glossy lip. Aisha had an amazing Afro, which didn’t need much help for it to look fab and for Lily I did loose waves. The look I did on Laura was slightly different; we went for more colour using a pastel blue on the eyes… this was my favourite. Her hair was in a middle parting, slicked back behind her ears.
The shoot came to a close at around 5pm. I had such a fun day and absolutely loved the location. It was great to see everything come together and I’m looking forward to seeing the final images!
